This year Advent UMC will host a Santahatchie Advent Mission on December 18-20. Santahatchie is modeled after the Salkehatchie Summer Service Mission which is sponsored by the United Methodist Church Conference of South Carolina.
Participants will gather at Advent UMC on Sunday evening, December 18 and share in worship and will be divided into their Santahatchie family groups. Santahatchie participants will be housed in the Advent Christian Life Center. On Monday and Tuesday, participants will rise early, share in breakfast and leave for home sites by 7am. Lunch and snacks will be delivered to the homes. At the work day conclusion, the family groups will return to Advent for dinner, showers and worship. Santahatchie will conclude at the end of worship on Tuesday, December 20.
Santahatchie is opened to students in 9th grade or older. Registration forms are now available on the Advent website, at Advent or by clicking the link provided. Adult site family leaders are also needed! The registration (including payment) deadline is November 1.
In addition, volunteers are needed to provide meals and snacks for the group. This would be a great opportunity for Sunday School Classes, Small Groups, UMW Circles, UMM Groups or individual families to serve together during the Advent season.
