Adults

Connecting to others through Sunday School held each week at 10:00 a.m. helps us develop our faith in the intimacy of small groups. Adults can choose from nine Sunday School classes ranging in age and class structure. All are devoted to deepening our spiritual connection to God and to each other.

Sojourners ~ Education Building Room 23

Sojourners is a class for those looking for a diverse group of women on a faith journey who enjoy reading and studying scripture through inspirational books that relate to everyday life issues and experiences. Open discussion and sharing thought, feelings, experiences, and ideas is the format for this shall group. Ages range from early 40's to mid 50's with youth and teens at home.

The Adventurers ~ Education Building Room 24/25

The Adventurers enjoy some great discussion concerning our faith journey as we seek to apply God's word in our daily lives. We celebrate our joys and help relieve the sorrows as we walk this journey together. We enjoy getting involved with the missions of our church by helping sponsor various activities throughout the year. We also enjoy fellowship outside of class. Our ages range from late 20s to early 40s. Our class includes couples and a few singles. We rotate teaching responsibilities and enjoy a wide range of curriculum. With a name like Adventurers, we are always interested in a variety of studies that will generate significant, faith forming conversation and encourage us to be disciples in our families and communities.

New Beginnings ~ Education Building Room 22

Led by Carol and Jeff Warfford, this class, while not limited to choir members, follows a choir schedule. Our group ends at 10:25 to accommodate those who need to prepare for choir leadership in worship. This year we have chosen lectionary-based curriculum, Keeping Holy Time.

Young at Heart ~ Sanctuary Narthex Classroom

The Young at Hearts class is self-descriptive. Currently we are exploring the Adult Bible Study Series. Our class is located to the left as you enter the sanctuary in the Narthex.

The Pathfinders ~ The Christian Life Center Room 202

Aptly named, the Pathfinders are on a faith journey. Coming from many different backgrounds, we use study guides as a means to foster in depth, frank discussions in a warm, open and caring environment as we make our walk of faith. Our demographic is predominantly couples with children.

Friends in Faith ~ The Christian Life Center Room 203

Friends in Faith follow six to eight week study guides on a wide range of Biblical topics. We enjoy lively discussion in caring atmosphere with our class. Our class has a wide range of ages. Susan Churchill is our frequent facilitator, some sometimes we rotate teaching responsibilities

Trinity Class ~ The Christian Life Center Room 204

The Trinity Class is a basic Bible study. Classes are in the form of a "tour" of the Bible. Everyone is welcome. There is no homework or advance preparation required.

Gleaners ~ The Christian Life Center Room 205

Gleaners range in age from young to young at heart and we encompass every demographic from single to couples to families with kids to empty nesters. We share an interest in scripture based study and applying God's work and will to missions outside of class. We share the responsibility to lead discussion each week between those willing. We also enjoy fellowship outside of class though regularly scheduled dinners and other social gatherings.

Simply Christians~ The Christian Life Center Room 206

A new Sunday school class has formed for adults who want to explore questions of Christian faith and practice in the context of a caring community of learners. Each week, we ask participants to read a brief section of a book or paper in preparation for the Sunday school hour. Keith Ray facilitates the class but everyone will participate in our weekly discussions. We will begin our study by exploring N.T. Wright's book Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense. N.T. Wright is Bishop of Durham, England and author of more than thirty books. According to the book's cover, "Simply Christian walks the reader through the Christian faith step by step and question by question. With simple yet exciting and accessible prose, Wright challenges skeptics by explaining even the toughest doubt-filled dilemmas, leaving believers with a reason for renewed faith. For anyone who wants to travel beyond the controversies that can obscure what the Christian faith really stands for, this simple book is the perfect vehicle for that journey."

Effective Living ~ The Christian Life Center Room 209

The Effective Living (formerly called Effective Families) is a class for adults who seek to broaden and deepen their spiritual walk. We focus on three key areas: relationships for living, theological questions, and personal growth. The studies span six to 10 weeks centered on videos, current books or short term study materials. Ages range from 40’s and beyond. We have quarterly social gatherings usually involving food.
