Three Worship Experiences

One Powerful Story

Join us in worship at 8:30, 9:55 and 11:15
as we look at life through the lens of faith

Worship is the heartbeat of the Church.  It is the forming and shaping experience that calls us weekly to bend our hearts toward God and extend our hands toward others in generosity, justice and love.  And because this is a life-long process of growing into the likeness of Christ, seekers and sojourners of all ages and stages on the journey are welcome here.

Sunday Morning Worship Schedule (beginning January 3, 2010)

8:30 The first service of the morning is engaging in style and rich in tradition.  The Son-Rise Singers lead our music, where hymns old and new are sung.    A Children’s Message is part of this service, as well as a Children’s Worship opportunity for children in 4K and 5K.

9:55 Don’t let the acoustic guitars and drums mislead you!  This worship experience celebrates the rich tradition of the ancient Church with the style of contemporary acoustic sound and an artful blend of visual technology and sacramental celebration.

11:15 This more traditional United Methodist service features music led by our Chancel Choir.  Our worship is often enriched by gifts of trumpet, flute, cello and hand bells.  A Children’s Message is part of this service, as well as a Children’s Worship opportunity for children in 4K and 5K.

While our musical and media styles may vary with each service, there is a unity that all three worship experiences share.  In worship:

  • We Gather to come close to mystery and wonder of God
  • We Listen for God’s word in the teachings of Scripture
  • We Respond to God’s love both inwardly and outwardly and
  • We Are Sent into the world to join God in transforming it

These are foundational to our understanding of Christian worship and remain relevant and purposeful regardless of worship style.

Nurseries are available for infants through three years old for all worship services.  Children in 4K and 5K are invited to attend Children’s Worship following the children’s message at the 8:30 and 11:15 worship services.  On the first Sunday of every month when the community of faith gathers to celebrate Communion at the Lord’s Table, children remain in the sanctuary with their families.

Sunday School classes for all ages meet at 9:55.  In addition there are other adult and youth offerings taking place at the 8:30 and 11:15 times.  Check the Faith Formation link to learn more.
