Children's Choirs

Register your child in one of the many children's choirs that meet on Wednesday nights.

    Children's Music

Children are vitally important at Advent.  From birth to 5th grade, our Children's music ministry is an extension of Christian education.  Children from birth-5 are invited to participate in our Kindermusik program, which is offered on a rotation.  Beginning in K3, children can participate in graded children's choirs.  Here,  children will study great hymns, anthems, and songs, learn about church symbols and seasons, learn scripture through song, and learn about the art of good singing so that they can lift their voices in praise.  Each choir sings in worship at different times throughout the year.  The Rejoice and Faith Choirs also participate in a children’s musical each Spring.  Additionally, children in 3rd-5th grades can join our Gloria Ringers, where they will learn to read music through playing songs of faith on the tone chimes.

    • Our Time (18 months - 3 years) during the fall
    • Imagine That (3 - 4 years) during the spring

Gloria Tone Chimes (Grades 3rd - 5th): Tone Chimes add so much to the worship experience at Advent through their beauty and power.  Gloria Tone Chimes (grades 3 - 5), offer an opportunity for children to learn to read music and to play in an ensemble. Under the exciting leadership of Steve Fogle and Stephanie Flenniken,  the children learn the basics of ringing and music reading, preparing them to play handbells and strenghtening their music skills.  Gloria Tone Chimes meet on Wednesday afternoons from 5:15 - 5:45 in the Music Suite.

    • Angel Choir (Grades Kindergarten - 1st):  The Angel Choir explores music integrated with discipleship.  Through song, they will build community, learn Bible stories, and respond to God's great love.  Led by Carol Warfford and Kim Goodin, the Angel Choir meets in the Education Building "Kitchen" classroom  during Wednesday Night Connection from 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
    • Rejoice Choir (Grades 2nd - 3rd):  Rejoice choir members will lead worship, learn beginning music reading, and begin to explore part singing through rounds, cannons, and part songs (two songs which go together).  With the Faith choir, they present a musical each spring which teaches a major story or concept of the Christian faith.  The Rejoice choir is made up of children in the 2nd and 3rd grades and is led by Carol Warfford and Kim Goodin.  This choir meets in room 22 during Wednesday Night Connection from 6:15-6:45, followed by Children's Discipleship in the "Temple" classroom of the Education Building.
    • Faith Choir (Grades 4th - 5th):  The Faith choir leads worship, sometimes singing jointly with an adult choir.  This choir provides the main musical leadership for the spring musical, including the dramatic parts.  Faith choir members will continue to explore music reading, part singing, and other musical forms such as rounds and cannons.  Led by Elizabeth Blair, members of this choir will explore ORFF instruments (xylophone, etc.) and world instruments such as the djembe, an African hand drum.  Faith choir meets in the Music Suite from 6:15 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. as a part of Wednesday Night Connection, followed by Discipleship in the Education Building "Amphitheater."
