Children Choirs

Children are vitally important at Advent.  Our children’s choirs meet on Wednesday  as a part of Wednesday Night Connection. Each choir leads worship through at different times throughout the year..  They also participate in a children’s musical each Spring.

Cherub Choir—Our youngest singers are our Cherubs, made up of K3-K4 children.  They will explore music through singing, movement, and simple instruments.  The Cherub choir will offer their sweet voices in worship several times a year.  They are led by Ann Gale and Nancy Radke.

Angel Choir—Made up of Kindergarten and 1st grade students, the Angel Choir will explore music through singing, movement, and instruments.  They will learn some basic music symbols and sing most songs by rote (not requiring reading skills).  Led by Pam Pritchett, Sue Ann Scott and April Louris, the Angel choir will lead worship several times a year.

Rejoice Choir—Rejoice choir members will lead worship, learn beginning music reading, and begin to explore part singing through rounds, cannons, and part songs (two songs which go together).  With the Faith choir, they present a musical each spring which teaches a major story or concept of the Christian faith.  The Rejoice choir is made up of children in the 2nd and 3rd grades and is led by Jenny Justus and Janet Eddy

Faith Choir—The Faith choir leads worship, sometimes singing jointly with an adult choir.  Made up of children in 4th and 5th grades, this choir provides the main musical leadership for the spring musical, including the dramatic parts.  Faith choir members will continue to explore music reading, part singing, and other musical forms such as rounds and cannons.  This choir is led by Joan Woodlee and Rebecca Waters.
